The concert aims to raise the youth’s awareness and encourage involvement in ABI's environmental campaigns, empower the youth to take action on environmental issues, ensure that students are able see themselves as active citizens today in the protection and preservation of the ecosystem and biodiversity and develop a network of youth environmental advocates in the province.
According to Ms. Evelyn Isidro, Advocacy Officer of Alay Bayan-Luson, the activity is not a fund raising project of ABI but an advocacy concert for the campaign against “Global Warming and Climate Change” and will mobilize student bands, visual artists and theatre artists from participating universities in Pampanga, to wit: Angeles University Foundation(AUF), Holy Angel University (HAU) and City College of Angeles(CCA) all of Angeles City; University of the Assumption (UA) of the City of San Fernando; and the Don Honorio Ventura Technological State University (DHVTSU) of Bacolor.
The concert’s general design is that while youth bands render environmental songs, visual artists will collectively paint the broad concert backdrop until the final song. The songs and music plus the resulting collectively expressed art work is aimed to effect and environment that will call on both the participating and viewing audience to commit to the Fight against Global Warming and Climate Change.
Booths will be put up. Student organizations can sell souvenir items for them to raise funds for environmental projects like ecological forums, poster making contests, tree planting and recycling projects that will be implemented after the concert.###
